Arthur J. Hurley III of Charlestown, was called home to God on April 14, 2016. He was president of the Arthur J. Hurley Company, founded by his grandfather in 1929. Arthur was a graduate of Belmont Hill School and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and Bentley College. He was a devout Roman Catholic and a great supporter of the church. He was an avid sports and auto racing fan, and enjoyed spending time on the Cape with his family. Arthur served as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Italian Home for Children. He also served on the Board of Trustees for Boston Architectural College, and was a strong supporter of the Roxbury Boys and Girls Club. Loving and devoted husband of Mary E. Drozda, son of Marybeth (O'Keefe) Arthur is preceded by his father Arthur J. Hurley Jr, his brother Drew Stephen Hurley, and his uncle Richard Hurley. Brother to Janne Clare, Matthew Hurley and his wife Joan Kellar, Jill Hurley, Marisa Hurley and her husband Michael McSweeny and Lara Hurley. Beloved uncle to Alexander Clare, Drew's daughter Casey Hurley, Olivia and Lucas McSweeny, Lauren Carlin and Danielle and Hannah Evon. He is remembered by Drew's widow Christine Fazzone, Richard's widow Sheila Hurley, cousins Meghan and Paddi Hurley, sister and brother in-law JoAnn and Robert Evon and Michael Clare. His determination and courage during his battle with cancer was an inspiration to the many who knew and loved him. Visitation hours Wednesday April 20th from noon to 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Boston Harborside Home of J.S. Waterman and Sons-Waring-Langone, 580 Commercial Street, Boston, MA 02109. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 21st 11:00 am in Saint Mary-Saint Catherine of Siena Parish, 55 Warren Street, Charlestown, MA. 02129.
