Connie Owens

Connie Lee Owens, 87, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born January 5, 1926, to Charlie and Sarah Jane Cole McCombs. She was a member of Carolina United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and all outdoor activities. She loved spending time with her children and many grandchildren. She also enjoyed the various activities and her friends at Landmark.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kerry Powell officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Jane Gillespie (Billy) of Booneville; two sons, Bradley Cain (Elesha Wigginton) and Arnold Owens (Reba), both of Booneville; eight grandchildren, Vicky DeVaughn (Mitch), Sherry Henderson, Tammy Combs, Tracey Owens, Camille Warlick (Hall), Grant Gillespie (Denise), Katie Cain and Chloe Cain; eight great-grandchildren, Jane Ellen Warlick, Mandi Michael (Kenny), Malorie DeVaughn, Meagan DeVaughn, Anna Henderson, Emma Henderson, Olivia Combs and Julia Combs; and two great-great-grandchildren, Allison Michael and Aiden Michael.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Arnold Owens; her parents; one sister, Evelyn Swinney; and two brothers, Charles McCombs and James “Dude” McCombs.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
