Leona was born in Canastota, New York, and lived there for most of her life until moving to Bonita Springs three years ago to be closer to her Florida family.
Leona worked for 50 years as the head hostess in the Gold Cup Room at Vernon Downs Racetrack, where she cherished the lifelong friendships she made.
She is survived by her sons, Vincent (Liz) and Gary (Diane), and her grandchildren: Renee’ (Brian) Bruno, Rochelle (Steve) Joslin, Ryan (Lina) Chiodo, Jamie (Joe) Binkowsky, Monica (Rob) Hughes, and Michael (Samantha) Mazzoli. Leona was also fortunate to have many beautiful great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Beatrice DiToma; her husband of 50 years, Vincent (Mack) Mazzoli; and her brothers, Frank, Paul, and Leo DiToma.
Leona was a communicant of St. Agatha Spirit of Hope Catholic Church in Canastota, New York.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family in the summer of 2025, where a Christian Mass and burial will be celebrated.
