Robert H. Rios

Robert H. Rios, 62, entered into eternal peace on May 17, 2017. Robert was born in El Centro, CA on April 25, 1955 to Maria H. Alvarez and Robert Rios Sr. He attended Central Union High School and graduated in 1973. He obtained his Associates Degree in Liberal Arts in 1978 from Imperial Valley College. He then attended Liberty University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Experimental Psychology with a minor in Theology in 1988. Robert (fondly known as Bob by some) led an extraordinarily fulfilling life, and his compassion and kindness touched the hearts of many. As a social worker for the city of San Diego, he dedicated his professional life to helping those in need, working with non-profit organizations like Meals on Wheels and the National Association for Hispanic Elderly. In his most recent years, Robert continued his passion to help people by working in public health services for Public Consulting Group where he was loved by his coworkers and clients. In his personal life he was a devoted father and grandfather to his family who he always described as the highlight of his life.

Robert is preceded in death by his father Robert Rios Sr.; stepfather Samuel Alvarez; and brother Marc Rios.

Robert leaves a lasting legacy as a beloved son to Maria H. Alvarez, and father to Nina Rios-Fuentes, Devon M. Rios, and Brittany Kim. There was nothing more enjoyable for Robert than being a beloved grandfather to his six grandchildren, Jaydn, Antonio, Aidan, Jacob, Zoe, and Lucas. He was also a loving brother to Albert Rios, Ann (Margie) Rosa, and Oscar Rios. A memorial service will be held on May 26, 2017 at Glen Abbey Mortuary from 5:00-9:00 pm and he will be laid to rest on May 27, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at 11:00 am.
