Kathy taught so many of us to quilt in her adult education classes. We all had so much fun in those classes. She did a great job. Condolences to her family and friends.

So sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. I took the  quilting classes she taught  1998- 2004  I remember she was so kind and helpful,  passing on her love of quilting. All these years later I am still quilting and frequently use her Christmas stocking and schlep bag patterns. I will always remember Kathy with affection.

A few times Kathy asked if  could sub for her due to health reasons. I was happy to help and was always impressed with her work on projects for her loyal quilting students. One time it took three of us to fill in her full schedule of classes as substitutes. In addition to quilting classes, she also taught Art Therapy at a few locations every week.  I was enriched with the time I spent doing that. Kathy had the respect of all of us who taught for SD Community Colleges, Continuing Education (as it was called then).

So sorry to have missed Kathy's service. She was well loved and taught many many women how to quilt through many years. I owe her so much for my fulfilling hobby. All my family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have quilts that Kathy gave me the skills to make.  I have lifelong friends that 
I met in her classes. She will be fondly remembered.

I took quilt classes from Kathy for many years. She was a wonderful teacher as well as a wonderful person. She always had a smile on her face and had a passion for both quilting and teaching. I have many fond memories of her. She will be missed by many.

I'm so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing.  My daughter was just out of high school when we took our first quilt class with Kathy.  Her classes were educational, supportive and always fun.  Many years later I am still quilting!  Thanks to Kathy.

Kathy has been missed at our quilting meetings. She was a loved member of our group. She’s sure to be blessed in the hands of our Lord and the many Angels that will surround her. May your family take peace in all the memories of Kathy during this difficult time and look with joy at them into your futures.


Kathy, as we knew her, was the driving force behind the San Diego Quilt Show getting started, and was about the last original member. I have very fond memories of those early days as a vendor, then show management, after we closed our quilt shop. We produced many wonderful show and hope to continue her legacy in 2024.
Even though l haven't seen Kathy in several years she was top of mind when anything SDQS came up. Great knowing her and RIP.
