San Diego, CA
Beloved Kenneth Robert Sulivan, II, passed away in San Diego, CA on June 14, 2018. Spending his early years in San Diego, he later relocated with his family to Hawaii where he graduated from Aiea High School and went on to earn his Associates of Science in Airframes and Power Plants from the University of Hawaii. Early on, he was a natural at sports, loving to run competitively and playing high school basketball as a Varsity player beginning from his Freshman year in high school. He was fast “as the wind” and eventually advanced to hold the Hawaii state record with the 4x400 relay team. “The fastest men in Hawaii.” During an interview, he was asked how he got so fast. He replied: “My Dad is really fast and I had to get fast in order to outrun Him when he would chase me.”
Upon graduating from college with his A.S., he moved to San Diego, CA and helped run the family business, Gamma Tech Industries, as a Nondestructive Testing Technician/Engineer for the past nearly 20 years. He was a dedicated employee, son, brother, grandson and all around committed to his family. He traveled all over the West Coast and Hawaii, loving road trips on untraveled roads and spending time with his two beloved dogs. He loved the beach and sunsets, where he put his photography hobby to work. His other hobbies included hiking and snorkeling and anything of the outdoors in nature. He was very much loved and survived by his Grandparents: Jim Ham (“Hapaw”), Patricia Bogard (“Grambe”), Father: Kenneth Sullivan Sr, Mother: Vicki Corder, Step-Father: Ron Corder, Sister: Allisun Sullivan, Brother: Cory Corder and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
He never hesitated to help someone in need and always put others before himself. He will be sorely missed and has been a source of comfort and stability for all around him.
