My parents always made it a thing to visit Pio and Chiqui often! This photo is from a trip in 2021 but we have so many more photos tucked away somewhere from many visits over the course of my 28 years of living. My parents always enjoyed their time with Pio and Chiqui and will hold all their memories together close to their hearts!! So much love between them 💗

To my Pio,

When I was a little girl, I didn’t understand that you were just my dad’s, Benjamin Rios, cousin. I thought you were brothers by how close you were and because of this I thought you were my uncle. But after time you became so much more than a cousin or uncle to me. You became like a second dad to me. It’s strange how love works sometimes; the love my dad has for you passed down to me but I also had my own love that grew for you. I am going to forever miss all the trips my family and I took to visit you and Chiqui, all the memories I made running around your house, learning how to roller skate in your driveway, you coming to my rescue whenever I got hurt, and the walks to the beach with you and Chiqui when I was a little. But most of all, I am going to miss your infectious laugh and all the times I got to sit in your lap from when I was little all the way up until past high school. I used to say you were like my big ole teddy bear and you would laugh! I love you so much Pio and  it will be hard for my dad, family, and I not to have you around but I’m grateful to have seen you one last time and that you were able to see both my babies, Milo and Ollie! I will make sure to share my memories of you with them to keep your memory alive and I look forward to the day I get to see you and sit in your lap again and reminisce on the lives we lived!! 💖🪽🌅 ~ Carolina Rios

Mi Mas Sentido Pesame Para Usted Carmen Y Toda La Familia , I Will Always Miss You My Brother Tally .

Every weekend morning or during holiday breaks I would head outside and see Tally out working on someone's car. I spent so many days hanging out in the garage with Tally and would help him when I could otherwise I would listen to stories talk about what was going on around the neighborhood or in general. Living across the street from you and Mama was the biggest blessing because I learned so much about family and the differences in each family. I love you as family and always have. I will miss you and one of my biggest regrets is not being able to bring the girls to meet you or taking pictures with yall when I could.

Between Tally and my dad my love and passion for working on cars and the beauty of classic cars. I love you Tally and my love for the Talivera family is big and I will always carry you all in my heart as family.

I loved him like a dad . Always kind always helpful always a wonderful friend.  You will forever be in my heart and always missed. Rest in eternal peace.

Esto ha sido bien difícil para mí Pio te amo y te amaré por siempre

The man with many names and titles.  Pio as I know him for the past 62 out of 67 years,  I thought he was my uncle on my early years.  Then from age 8 or 9 , I know him as my cousin,  funny.  Pio means one word to me: HAPPINESS. Always happy times everytime my Tia Celia and or him visited my home in Puerto Rico. Then Chiqui came and later Anita, Carmen, and Junior joint the happiness.  The Sailor who became my silent mentor. The Chief who inspired me, so I also jointed the US Navy.  The black sheep's of the families,  well I couldn't let him take all the glamor and credit.  Pio and Chiqui honored me with their presence at my Navy Retirement Ceremony in 1996. They represented my family and I'll forever be happy and grateful. I am,  Lissette is and the girls Maricella, Carolina and Sofia are Blessed having you in our life and being part of the Family, as we are proud of being part of yours.  You have been the true meaning of "primo-hermano",  my  brother.  You're loved in my house,  not as a cousin,  but as brother,  friend,   Godfather, as Tata figure for some. Five or six  generations of cousins that we accomplished, not bad for two jibaritos. Proud of being family,  farewell Pio.  "Anchors aweigh,  my brother,  Anchors aweigh.  Until we meet once more.  Here's wishing you a happy voyage  home!!!"  Te amo,  tu hermano Benjamin junior.

To my Soul God Coño I’m   going to miss you so much I’ve  always look up to you with lots respect until we meet again in paradise.  I will always carry you in my heart wherever I go  Love you so  much 💜🙏
