Eva Casillas, born on October 2, 1938, in Durango, Mexico, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, in Escondido CA, at the age of 86. Eva spent her early years in rural Durango and was married to Antonio Casillas in 1959. That same year Eva immigrated to the United States, and settled in Southern California, where she and Antonio had four children: Antonio, Arnoldo, Luciano, and Sonia. Her husband Antonio passed in 1967, and Eva became a working single mother for the next three decades; embarking on a journey that saw her working in a variety of industries, showcasing her versatility and resilience. Upon retirement Eva resided with her family and helped care for her grandchildren.
Eva's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her unwavering spirit. She would constantly travel back to Durango Mexico to care for her parents and ultimately cared for her mother Aurora during her final years. Eva enjoyed traveling and taking trips with her family. One of her greatest passions was watching her grandchildren play sports, participate in music, dance, and perform in theater. She was always a quiet but avid fan. She is survived by her sister Delfina Corral, loving son Arnoldo and his wife Jackie, her devoted daughter Sonia and her husband William, and her cherished grandchildren Elyse, Bianca and her husband Joel , Antonio and Diana his fiancé , Samantha, Isabela, and David. She has reunited in heaven with her sons Antonio and Luciano. Her legacy continues through her four great-grandchildren, Alexa, Joaquin, Lucy, and Esme, who will carry forward the values and love she instilled in them.
Eva's memory will be forever treasured by her family and friends, who will remember her as a beacon of strength and kindness. Her journey from Durango to the United States is a testament to her courage and determination, and her impact on those around her will never be forgotten.
