Eulalio “OLAN” Arellano, of San Diego passed away February 21, 2019 doing what he loves most, spending quality time with his wife and grandchildren. Originally from Magsingal, Ilocos Sur Philippines where he was born to parents MATEO and BERNARDINA. He finished his education at St. Williams High School and Magsingal Institute thereafter he joined the Philippine Marines. He faithfully served over 20+ years performing various duties which includes distinguish years in the Malacañang Palace as Presidential Security Guard. After his retirement from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the family emigrated to Guam, USA in 1990 where they took roots and resided until eventually relocating to San Diego, CA. He remained devotedly married to his only wife Angelina “LINA” Arellano til the day of his passing. OLAN and LINA were blessed with five kids ALVIN, RAFFY, JUN-JUN, ELMER, LJ and many grandkids. He loved to travel with his wife as they frequently flew back and forth from their humble abode in the Philippines to California, Maine, Rhode Island, Delaware and to any other places to be with their children and grandchildren. When he is not with his grandkids, he enjoyed a very active and healthy lifestyle to which some of his hobbies includes jogging, hiking and walking. He also finds pleasure in meeting and conversing with his fellow soldiers “The Salty Boots” of Philippines where he exudes genuine camaraderie with his fellow retired Marines whom are proactive in serving their respective communities.
OLAN is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, brother JACINTO, both sisters ROSARIO and REMEDIOS.
