Elizabeth D. De Leon

Elizabeth Diaz De Leon was born in Aduas, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines on June 3, 1937. Her parents were Don Marcelo Diaz and Doña Modesta Binene. Her siblings were Marciano Diaz and Narding Diaz.

She is survived by her siblings Nita Hernandez, Lydia de Guia, Celso Diaz and Edilberto Diaz, and her children Allan, Cezanne, Marife, Lilibeth, AnaLiza, Candice, and Conrado, Jr. She was blessed with grandchildren: Cezanne Jr., Farina, Marife, Eisenhower, Ronald, Jefferson, William, Bernadette, Bernadine, David, Devon, Donovan, Deanna, Xsavier, Thomas, Avenmore, Darian and Kaden and great-grandchildren: Leyla, Angelina, Neco, Frankie, Nina, Christopher, Joseph, Landon, Jensen, Madeline, Audrey, and RJ.

Elizabeth was married to her one and only, Conrado Valenzuela De Leon, Sr. (Tatay) for 52 years— their love was undeniable and lasted a lifetime. It paved the way towards a legacy that now consists of 9 children, 18 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. God called Conrado, Sr. home 12 years ago and now will be together again along with her 2 sons, Anthony and Ismael.

Her heart was filled with warmth and joy when surrounded by family, and she cherished precious bonding time. Elizabeth also loved listening to music from the 50s and 60s, especially Patti Paige, Nat King Cole and Engelbert Humperdinck. Moments of her “feeling lucky,” she was a force to be reckoned with at the local casinos. She had the opportunity to travel, including to Hong Kong with Tatay, bringing back memories of delicious dim sum, and sailed off into the sunset on a cruise to the Caribbean with her family. She was very appreciative of those who took her out, and never turned down the offer to go shopping with one of her daughters as she was a fashionista in her own right. When you saw her, she was always a vision of grace and stature, the epitome of style.

Elizabeth was a gifted entrepreneur. Alongside her husband, they ventured into many businesses which included textiles, fabrics, a grocery store, imports/exports, and freight forwarding. She was a strong-minded business-woman who had ambition, confidence, assertiveness, and the passion to see her dreams become reality.

We will always remember Elizabeth’s devotion to God and dedication to her family. As a beautiful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she lived her life by the Spirit, incorporating the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). She exuded such characteristics every moment that she spent with family and always looked forward to gatherings - being together made her happy! Watching everyone talk, eat, drink, and laugh was a wonderful sight indeed! Some of the fondest moments in her life was the celebration of her and Tatay’s 50th Wedding Anniversary as well as being present in her own children’s weddings.

Although much of her family resides in Texas, she never hesitated in traveling back and forth to spend quality time with them. We can never forget her love of cooking, not only for her family, but for everyone! She was always ready at a moment’s notice to prepare some tasty, home-cooking! It was not in her nature to be selfish. Not a day went by where she did not think of others. That is the kind of love she gave! The kind of love that we can only aspire to give.

She loved unconditionally.

She lived inspirationally.

She will be missed by many,

but will always be loved!
