Mr. Young was born in New Hanover County on December 14, 1942, son of the late Thomas Jefferson Young, Sr. and Emma Rabon Young. Tom was a land developer for many years in Brunswick County. He served on the Brunswick County Planning Board and on the Brunswick County Department of Social Services Board. Many years ago, he served on the Advisory Board for Bolivia Elementary School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Aveline Young.
Survivors include his daughter, Tina Young Jackson and husband Ken of Southport; and grandson, Barron Thomas Young of Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 at twelve o’clock noon at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Bolivia Chapel with Reverend Eddie Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Young Family Cemetery of Town Creek.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 26, 2023 from two o’clock until four o’clock in the afternoon at the funeral home.
