“Ma Pat” as she was affectionately known was born in Charleston, SC on the nineteenth of July, 1940 to the late James Drufus Griffin, Sr. and May Lois Daughtery Griffin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Carlston McKeithan, Sr. and her husband David Sandifer.
She, along with her parents and Brother Jim started the Holden Beach Realty Corporation in 1961. Pat and Brother Jim were a part of the Brunswick Beacon staff in the 1960’s. She currently was owner and broker of Holden Beach Properties and Rental Services of which she gave 110% of herself to its clients. Holden Beach was special to Pat and wanted it to remain a family oriented home for her family and the members of the community. She was involved in the politics of the Island and served as commissioner from 1999 – 2001 and 2005 – 2007. A republican at heart, she would encourage everyone to participate in the democratic process by voting, and believed in voting for the right person over party.
