My dearest Daddy
Tomorrow will be at year since you've moved on to your best life in Heaven.  This past year has been rough without you, but I know you are in a much better place now.  I miss you lots! I can hear you telling me, this is just a part of life and go on with yours, and I am respectfully doing that.  Days like today, brings back sadness for me and I wish you were in your room or peddling around in the garage workshop.  I know, you know how I feel, but I want to honor you in some way.  So, I, Jeff, Dana and Grayson are going fishing on the pier tomorrow.  Secretly - I am hoping to deal with my thought of you and I think that will help.  Weather we catch anything or not, we are honored to do this with your memories. In my heart and mind, I can hear one of your favorite sayings:  "I had rather be Luky than Goodlooking" so when I catch a fish, I know you had helped!

Grandaddy was the reason I like the braves, hunting, fishing, and working on cars with my dad.  My greatest memory is him and I fishing on the pier for king mackerel. I remember spending hours with him fishing and loved every second of it. He taught me almost everything I know when it comes to saltwater fishing. Also a HUGE memory for me was playing poker with him and my aunt Donna  it was so much fun for me learning how to play. It was something all three of us really enjoyed doing together. He was one of a kind. These memories will last a lifetime for me. Grandaddy I love you and thanks for being a great role model and Grandfather. 

Don and Steve have been best buds for 40+ years. From Sears co-workers to hunting buddies! Oh the stories Steve would tell and the infectious laughter heard through the phone when they would contact one another! Don was a character and Steve will be lost without him! I will miss hearing stories Steve would tell me. This is a hard loss. His memory will live on in our hearts. Prayers to the family and other friends having a hard time. Just remember, you all have a wonderful guardian angel! Look to the heavens and give Don a HUGE smile! That will put him at ease!

The beauty of a life well-lived never dies it continues to embrace and inspires us.
May you find comfort in your loving memories.  I had 31 years knowing Donald as my father in law. And he will always have a special place in my heart.
