Jeanetta Ruth Sim

Jeanetta Ruth Sim, age 85 of Wilmington, formerly of Boiling Spring Lakes passed away in the care of Embrace Hospice of Myrtle Beach with her daughter and grandson and many employees of Hospice by her side on Tuesday November 7, 2017.

Mrs. Sim was born in Newfoundland, Canada on January 10, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Augusta and Margaret Humphries Knee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Frederick Sim Sr. on October 25, 2016. She was a longtime member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Southport. She retired from J.C. Pennys of Wilmington in 1993 after 28 years of employment.

Ruth was a loving mother to her children and a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren. She lived a life full of laughter and joy. She was a true newfie at heart. She enjoyed making people smile and laugh. Her bright smile will live on forever.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Creek and husband Ronald and children, Heather and husband Paul, Christopher and Hunter and great-grandchild, Ada; daughter Cathy Sim and daughter Kelly Sim and great-grandchild, Owen; daughter, Mary Rowe and husband Brad and children, Ashlie and Melissa; son, Richard Sim Jr. and wife Angie and step grandchildren, Kahner and Korbin Ballew; a brother, Jack Knee and wife Lottie and children Derrick and Jim ; a sister, Kate Haws.

A private interment service will be held at Cape Fear Memorial Park, Southport.
