David was born in Columbus, Ohio on the twelfth of July 1939 to the late Joseph and Ina Nestor Powers. He was a faithful member of Brunswick Islands Baptist Church and was a US Air Force veteran. David was retired from Navistar after thirty five years of service.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife Alta Lee Powers of the home; three daughters, Naomi Zielinski and husband Scott of Supply, NC, Earmel Lee Hunt and husband Andrew of Hamden, OH, Marsha Gearheart of Columbus, OH; three grandchildren, Hallee Nichols and husband Alexander, Michael J. Malernee, Jr., Alexandria Worthington; a great grandchild, Michael J. Malernee, III and his canine friend, “Molly”.
A celebration of life will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday the twentieth of December 2017 in the Brunswick Island Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Rudya Ramphal officiating.
