She was born in Brunswick County on July 26,1967 and was the daughter of Matt Long of Stumpy Point, NC and the late Olinda Phelps Long. She was a full time homemaker and grandma. She attended the Pentecostals of Wilmington Church in Wilmington, NC.
Survivors in addition to her father include her husband, Bernard; two children, Emory Jackson Lucas of Kure Beach, NC and Abby Lucas of Maryland; two brothers, Ray Long of Burgaw, and James Long of Leland; sister, Wanda Long of Oak Island; grandchildren, Kent Irwin, Devyn Lucas, Anaiyah Brown, Zaikim Brown, Tai’aijah Brown, Ki’Shaiyah Brown, Isaiah Brown, Ka’Vaiah Brown, Ezekiel Brown, Kaidyn Brown.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at eleven o’clock in the morning at the Pentecostals of Wilmington Church, 3615 Chippenham Drive, Wilmington, NC. Pastor Floyd Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bolivia, NC.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning one hour prior to the service.
