Bill is survived by his loving wife Kelly and two sons, Christopher and Jonathan as well as his furbaby Lola. He is predeceased by his parents Jerome and Lucille Gallon of Boca Raton, FL. He was “Uncle Bill” to his nieces and nephews: Edwin, Elizabeth, Easton, Emmy, Joey, Darian, Mason and Aila. Dear brother-in-law to Stephen and Jennifer Wilke and adored son in law of Mildred Kayle, William (predeceased) and Casey Kayle.
Bill was a proud Florida State University alumnus with a degree in accounting. He was an active member of the FSU Swim and Water Polo teams as well as having swam in the 1976 Olympic trials. He practiced as a CPA in South Florida for twenty plus years. Additionally, he served as an accounting professor at Palm Beach Junior College (now Palm Beach State College) where he first met his wife, Kelly. He was able to continue his passion for teaching later in life as a math and U.S. History teacher at Omni Middle School for fourteen years.
Bill was a true outdoorsman owning every single camping gadget known to man. Camping in the Ocala National Forest with his family gave him great joy throughout the years. He loved to fish, kayak, and cook over the open flame.
Not only a beloved teacher, but Bill also served the youth of the community on and off the field. He actively coached baseball, basketball, lacrosse, and various other sports. He was an inspiration to his children as well as the players on his teams. He exemplified the roll of father by being actively engaged throughout his children’s lives.
He attended the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boca Raton where his celebration of Life will be scheduled forthcoming. The family will provide updates on this site as well as social media.
Bill's Celebration of Life Service will be held outdoors, please dress casual. Chris and Jon request you to wear your favorite crocs or most comfortable shoes in honor of their Dad.
