Mylon “Mike” Vann, 96 of Boca Raton, FL passed away on April 11, 2021 at his home. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Mike excelled in basketball and baseball in high school. Mike served his country for 3 years as a Torpedoman in the US Navy. After being honorably discharged he signed a contract with the New York Giants organization and spent 7 years in professional baseball. A hand injury ended his career. Mike earned an accounting degree from University of Chicago and became a corporate accountant in the building industry. He worked for Hollywood, Inc., E & I, Inc. and Big Lake Roofing until his retirement at the age of 84. He loved to handicap horses and spent many happy Saturdays at Gulfstream Race Track.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Linda, daughters Lee Jenkins (Tim) and Vanessa Fisk (Jamie) and son Mark Vann. Also surviving are his stepchildren Debra Gill (Terry), Robin Marston and Bob Stewart, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. His greatest joy was Great Grand Poppy to Jack, Luke and Kate.
He was very proud of his Serbian heritage and proud to be an American.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL, 33432. A prayer service will begin at 3:00 P.M. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Boca Raton Cemetery, 451 SW 4th Ave, Boca Raton, FL 33432.
