Mary F. Miller nee Frasca known to family and friends as Amelia or Meal passed away on October 4, 2021. She was a resident of Saint Andrews Estates Acts Retirement Life Community in Boca Raton, Florida. Amelia was born on November 25, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland to Rachel and Frank Frasca. Her parents were Italian immigrants and her early life was in the area now known as “Little Italy”. She had five older brothers and sisters, all of whom have predeceased her. She lived in Baltimore until she married Hugh Miller on November 2, 1946. They met on a blind date during WWII and were married for 65 years. The newlyweds moved to her husband’s hometown of Xenia, Ohio. Hugh started working for Atlas Cement in Fairborn and they lived in Xenia and Fairborn, Ohio for seventeen years where her three children, (Lee, Susie, and Keith) were born. During this time she worked at Wright Patterson AFB and at the Grain Co-Op as an assistant to the manager. In 1963, Amelia and family moved to Freeport, Bahamas where Hugh was the Director of Personnel for the Bahama Cement Company. She became active in various community groups in Freeport. In 1970, the Millers moved to Ormond Beach, Florida where they lived for the next forty-two years. While in Ormond, Amelia attended Daytona Beach Community College receiving an associate degree in nursing and an LPN certification. She worked in local hospitals afterward. In 2016, after her husband’s death, Amelia moved to the Saint Andrews Estates Acts Retirement Life Community to be near her daughter. She is survived by her children, Lee and Prudence Miller, Susan Miller and Alan Glotzer, and Keith and Juliann Miller, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was a petite woman who was known for an excessive amount of energy. She was a baker and was known for the many types of cookies she could make at a moments notice. She liked to read, enjoyed quilting, and cross stitch. She was an avid bowler and in her spare time she worked crossword puzzles. She loved to hear about the exploits of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Amelia’s remains are to be cremated and the ashes interred with her husband’s at Bryon Cemetery in Fairborn, Ohio. Her family, friends and health care aides, will miss her friendship and her love of life.
