Maria Cecilia Barany

Maria Cecilia was born in Espinal, Colombia on August 4th, 1940 to Jesus Maria Guzman and Maria del Carmen Vargas. Maria Cecilia was an adventurous, strong and independent woman. She lived in Bogota, Colombia and then relocated to Caracas, Venezuela. There she met her late husband Bruno Barany and wed on February 22, 1963. In 1978, she ventured to a new country and ended up living in Miami, Florida. During her time in Miami, she was a stay at home mom for a few years until she began to work as a typesetter at Romero’s printing until eventually running her own typesetting office. She successfully ran her company until the year 2004 when she retired and relocated to Parkland, Florida. She dedicated her retired years helping raise her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Family was an important part of her life. She was loved and respected by all her nieces and nephews. She was caring, giving and always set an exemplary example for all to inspire to be. She learned early on in her life from her mother to be generous and it is a trait that she instilled in her three children and grandchildren.

Maria Cecilia was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Maria Guzman, her mother Maria del Carmen Vargas, her husband Bruno Barany, her siblings Beatriz Guzman, Jorge Guzman, Nelly Beatriz Futo, Humberto Guzman and Jesus Maria Guzman.

She is survived by her three children, Eduardo Bruno Barany, Sandra Cecilia Woonton and Patricia Victoria Mack and her sons-in-law Paul Mack, Todd Woonton and Xack Langston. She is also survived by

her five grandchildren, Nicole Francesca Mack, Ryan Allan Woonton, Hunter Dylan Mack, Alexa Cecilia Mack and Taylor Lauren Woonton.

A Catholic funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at St. Joan Of Arc Catholic Church, 370 SW 3rd Street, Boca Raton, Florida 33432.

Celebration of her life will take place at the home of Paul and Patty Mack following the services.
