Lucille Marilyn (Maiorino) Matthews

Lucille Marilyn Matthews (nee Maiorino), 87, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on May 29, 2024, in Boca Raton, Florida. Lucille's warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love were a constant source of strength for her family and friends. Her kindness and generosity shaped her loved ones in countless ways. Her commitment and dedication to her family created a legacy that will continue to live on in each of them.

She is survived by her husband, Stuart Luftig, her children Robert (Janis) Matthews II, Kelly Hynes (Phil Scanlon), Daniel (Laura) Matthews, and Kasey Matthews (Mark Krugman), as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece Patricia Jacobs and her beloved friends. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Matthews I, her father Pasquale Maiorino, her mother Louise Maiorino, and her sister Raphaela (Rae) DePalma.

Lucille was a successful business owner and a devout member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Boca Raton, FL. In her free time, she enjoyed charity work, shopping, and traveling. A Celebration of Life and funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 10300 Yamato Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33498. The family will be accepting guests back at the Matthews-Luftig home after the service. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Babione Funeral Home in Boca Raton, FL.

Lucille loved flowers so they are welcome but if you prefer a donation, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Lucille. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
