Jennifer Simmons Palermo, age 50, of Boca Raton, Florida, was called to heaven, September 9, 2020. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home. Jennifer was born in Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of the late Allen and Charlotte Simmons. She was raised and attended school in Pueblo, and moved to Boca Raton soon after completing fashion design courses. Shortly after this, she met Scott Palermo, the love of her life. After a wonderful courtship, they were married on December 7, 1996. They were blessed with two loving children, Carlee, 22, and Cole, 21.
Jennifer truly loved life. She will be remembered best for her beautiful smile, her kind heart, her generous and giving nature, her incredible sense of humor, and her love of a good challenge. She loved orchids, cardinals, and sunrises on the beach. Jennifer immensely enjoyed the outdoors. She was an ardent skier and swimmer, having worked as a lifeguard for several summers in high school. Jennifer was a member of the Boca Raton Woman’s Tennis Team, Division Three, for many years and cultivated numerous lasting friendships with her team members. She was good at any sport she tried. She became quite an avid golfer in the last years of her life. She made anything she did fun.
Jennifer was a treasured daughter, a loving wife, a devoted mother, a fun sister, a loyal friend, and favorite Auntie to numerous nieces and nephews. Jennifer is survived by her beloved husband, Scott, and her two cherished children, Carlee and Cole. She is also survived by her two dearest brothers, Andy (Cristina) Simmons and Bob (Jennifer) Simmons and their children, along with the entire adoring Palermo family, and a myriad of incredible, loving friends. Jennifer was taken from us way too soon, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She truly was everyone’s favorite person.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Catholic Church, Saturday, September 19, at 12:30 PM, 21689 Toldeo Road, Boca Raton, FL 33433. An open house reception will follow at the Palermo home.
