Janet R. Sutton was born in Miami, Florida on June 27, 1948, and passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in Sorrento, Florida. She grew up in Hialeah, FL and lived there until she married Warren Sutton, her high school sweetheart, in 1970. She loved to sew and dance. She performed in dance recitals for many years and spent her last weekend at an embroidery retreat, doing what she loved most. She worked with Warren at their sheet metal company until she retired and moved to Sorrento, FL in 2021, to be closer to her daughter and grandsons.
She is survived by her husband, Warren, of 53 years, and her daughters Kristie Lay (James) and Heather Mesa (Andy), and five grandchildren, Trevor Lay, Karyssa Lay, Ryan Mesa, Alec Mesa, and Liam Mesa, sister Carol Prentiss (Scott) and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Jerry and Elaine Robertson, and brother Bruce Robertson.
She was affectionately known as Grammy by her family and was both a second mom and grandma to so many. She loved to sew and embroider pillows and special gifts for her friends and loved ones. Most importantly, she was a wonderful and loving wife to Warren and an amazing mom to her daughters.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 1-4 PM at Babione Funeral Home,
