Anne Veronica Young, 97 of Boca Raton, FL , the “Little Girl from Cherry Street” affectionately known as Avy to her family and friends passed away peacefully on June 28, 2019 with her son Brian and grandson Spencer by her side.
Born on December 26, 1921 the middle daughter of George and Anna Yonkevich in Pottstown, PA. Anne worked for American Airlines in Los Angeles and New York and saw the world. She met her future husband William L. Young in New York and was married in Fanwood, NJ. The couple had two sons, David and Brian. The family later moved to Mendham, NJ where Anne became a social fixture at the Commons Townhouse community where they lived. A sister, wife, mother, grandmother, an accomplished painter, chef and hostess, Anne knew how to have fun. She was a loving and sincere person who always had a kind word or positive comment for everyone. Anne always marveled at how wonderful life turned out for the “Little Girl from Cherry Street”.
Anne is survived by her sister Rita, sons David and Brian, daughter-in-law Nathalie and grandchildren Spencer, Marcus and Emma.
