Ruth Fern Maners

Ruth Fern Maners, age 86, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday morning, April 22, 2025 at Stonecroft Health Campus in Bloomington. Born February 15, 1939 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Guy and Retha Ellen (Hendricks) Abram. Ruth worked as a tax preparer prior to retirement. In her earlier years, she enjoyed going to her Lake Lemon property, traveling, camping, fishing, attending country music performances, sewing and mastered making wedding cakes. She especially enjoyed spending time with her sisters. She was a member of the Highland Village Church of Christ.

Ruth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dana Summitt Bristoe and Jim Bristoe, of Bloomington, son and daughter-in-law, Charles “Dene” and Traci Snoddy, of Solsberry; two step-sons, Jerry (Teresa) Maners, of Spencer and Jeff (Juilie)Maners, of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Jackie (Brian) McGlothlin, Wesley Summitt, Colty (Courtney) Snoddy, Tiffany Morgan; eight great-grandchildren, Easton McGlothlin, Madelyn McGlothlin, Landon McGlothlin, Wyatt Snoddy, Korbin Snoddy, Jaxon Snoddy, Austynn Richardson and Audrey Richardson; four step-grandchildren, Josh Bristoe, Jared (Brittany) Maners, Jessica (Corby) Heckman and Jennifer (Scott) Butcher and many step-great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, Charles Snoddy, 2nd husband, Don Maners; five sisters, Hildreth Hendrickson, Thelma Georgia Collier, Joan Abram, Martha Easterday and Rose Burton and four brothers, Doran Abram, Paul Abram, Cecil Abram and Guy Abram, Jr.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 28 at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home with interment to follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Monday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
