Richard M. Kent

Richard M. Kent, 83, died Monday June 27 at his home in Bloomington. Born August 14, 1927 at their home in Brown County, Indiana, He was the oldest son of Peter & Ida (Johnson) Kent. Richard attended Butcher Elementary and University High School. He served in the US Army Pease-keeping forces stationed in the Phillippines following WWII. Richard was employed at Showers Brothers Furniture and RCA before joining the US Postal Service in 1958. He was a postal clerk, letter carrier and fleet operations manager during his 28 year career there. He retired in 1987. On July 18, 1950 Richard married Ruth Baxter. Ruth died September 19, 1976. He was also preceded in death by both parents, brothers O. Eugene and Robert and Two infant sisters. Richard is survived by his only child Diana Easley(O.Lee) of Bloomington, one Grandson Tyler Davis (Allison) of Columbus, one Granddaughter Emily Davis of Dallas, Texas and one brother Gilbert Kent Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from 4 to 8 PM at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel. The funeral service will be at 3:00PM Thursday June 30, 2011 at the Mortuary with Riv. Michael Douglas Officiating. Burial will follow the service at Knightridge Cemetery.
