Paul Henry Taylor

Paul Henry Taylor, 92, of Bloomington passed unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. He was born December 20, 1927 in Monroe County to Oris Taylor and Josie Riggs Taylor. He was the owner of Paul Taylor Excavating.
Survivors include his two sons, Danny & Darlene Taylor and Roger and Debbie Taylor both of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Danielle (Michael), Dusty (Tasha), Levi (Ali), Josie (Stephen) and Libby (Pierce); seven great grandchildren, Colten, Braden, Keylee, Nash, Zoey, Maci, Mitchell plus baby Taylor yet to arrive; Annabelle the family dog; several nieces and nephews; and many loving neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Phyllis Young Taylor; 7 brothers; and 1 sister.
Paul was a member of the Free Methodist Church. On October 27, 1956 Paul married the former Phyllis Young and they enjoyed many years together until her passing in 2011. He served in the United States Army where he operated a crane, this sparked his love for excavating. He ran his own business and has passed that passion down through three generations. His love for family and the outdoors continually showed his entire life as he still got on his Dixie Chopper weekly and got on a dozer every chance he could.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Bloomington Free Methodist Church, 1121 S Lincoln St. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday at the church with Pastor Les Rovenstine officiating. Burial will follow at Garrison Chapel Cemetery.
