Patsy lived for her family. She loved caring for everyone whether it be family or not. She was always there to help as much as she could and more. Her love of cooking was evident by always having food ready when anyone came over and her love of the outdoors and gardening provided memories not soon forgotten. She enjoyed spending time with friends at the Unionville Senior Citizen Group where she played bingo, playing cards with grandchildren, going to yard sales, going out to eat with family and friends, doing puzzles, crossword searches, crocheting, gardening, listening to Gospel music, and fishing. She played many musical instruments, including spoons. She loved watching her grandkids at their ball games. She was a member of the Belmont Church of Christ.
Patsy is survived by her four children, Michael Tarter (Sandy) of Bloomington, Randall Tarter (Kathy) of Bloomington, Teresa Smoot (Larry) of French Lick, and Daniel Scott (Beverly) of Bloomington, children she raised, Pamela Sego (Jon), Dennis Sego, Mark Sego (Dawn), Tim Deckard, Sherry Lynn, grandchildren, Melanie, Gena, Randy Jr., Nicole, Ruby, Levi, Gavin, Billie, Amber, Danielle, Jessica, and Amanda, 22 great- grandkids and 6 great-great grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Robert D McKee, her first husband Walter Tarter Jr, her second husband Kenneth Scott whom she was married to of over 62 years, brothers Jerry E Deckard and Clyde G Deckard, sisters Donnetta M Deckard, Shirley Deckard, Mona Sego, and grandson Joe Tarter.
A gathering of family and friends for Patsy will be held Friday December 13,2024 from 10:00 am to 2:00pm in the Day & Deremiah- Frye Funeral Home located at 4150 E 3rd Street Bloomington, IN 47401. Funeral service following and then burial at Little Union Baptist Church on Brummetts Creek road.
Patsy will be laid to rest next to Kenny in Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, Indiana.
