Bloomington, along with her husband, James L. Ray. She was born in Hammond, Indiana
the daughter of Fay Frank Boys and Beulah Gullickson. Marilyn graduated from Indiana University in
1955 with a teaching degree. She taught fourth grade until she became a mother and decided to stay
home and devote her time to raising her two daughters. She was very active in their lives, serving as a
Girl Scout Leader, on the PTA and as a Sunday school teacher and always helping out whenever needed.
Marilyn was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority, The Junior League. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Lewis French.
Marilyn is survived by her sisters Carolyn Ard of New York, NY and Lois Thomas of Philadelphia, PA
Marilyn is also survived by her daughters Leigh Ann Brock of Fairfield, OH and Traci (Dean) Clanton of
Cumming, GA and 4 Granddaughters: Lauren Marie Brock, Amanda Leigh Brock, Kristina Lynn Brock,
Amber Elizabeth Brock all of Fairfield, OH.
Services will be held at 2:00pm. On Sunday, October 10, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church at
219 East 4th Street , Bloomington. Visitation will be at the Day Funeral Home, at 4150 East Third Street,
Bloomington, on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 2 – 6 PM. Burial will take place at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
