ArrangeLinda Kay Sturgeon Merriman of Bloomington, passed away in her home with her family by her side on August 31, 2014. She was born in Brown County to James and Lois(Myers)Sturgeon on September 15, 1950. She was 63 years old.Linda was a 1968 graduate of Brown County High School. She worked as a direct support specialist at Stonebelt for 34 years before retiring last year.She married Micheal Merriman on September 20, 1968. He preceded her in death in 2006.Linda is survived by three children: Carrie(husband Dan)Dorsey, Michelle(husband Eddie)Rose and Tim Merriman, seven grandchildren: Ericka(husband Kyle)Scales, Samanatha Rose, Sydney Rose, Shelby Rose, Haley Merriman, Jared Dorsey, and MacKinzie Merriman, two great grandchildren: Micheal Scales and Audrina Rose.She is also survived by her sister: Janet Eads, her brother: Jimmy Sturgeon and her sister: Connie(husband Brian)Ress.She was preceded in death by her infant son: Micheal Merriman, her husband Micheal Merriman and her parents James and Lois Sturgeon.Linda was a loving, caring compassionate lady who helped anyone in need. She loved all of her family deeply, loved to travel, enjoyed gardening ,festivals, and going to her cabin on Dietz Lake and family gatherings. She especially loved her dog Willy. Linda will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Friends may call for visitation on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St., Bloomington, IN 47401. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. also in the funeral home. With the Pastor Rick Clayton officiating.Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery in Brown County.
