Janet was born to Ruel and Hazel (Bridges) Bruner on July 17, 1939 in Bloomington, Indiana.
She married Wendell Burton on April 26, 1957 and was blessed with 66 years of married life with him. They had 3 children: Sherrie (Gary) Farmer, Gary (Lesliann) Burton and Linda (Brad) Ennis.
Janet is survived by her husband, her children and their spouses, and her 9 grandchildren: Jeremy Miller, Ashlee (Adam) Christy, Jennifer (Tommy) Reiter, Lynsie (Ryan) Haag, Kelsee Ennis, Whitney Ennis, Nikki Ennis, Tony (Sarah) Farmer and Shelby Farmer. She was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law Raymond (Mia) Burton, in addition to her nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Robert (Shirley) Bruner, Gerald Bruner and Anita Louise Bruner.
After graduation from Bloomington High School, Janet started her family with Wendell. Through the years, she worked at RCA and Eberle Hardware. Her main and most important career to her was taking care of her family. Once her children were grown, Janet began a career as a greeting card merchandiser. She faithfully served in that role for over 20 years, until she joined her husband in retirement.
Janet lived her days loving on her family, cooking amazing meals, tending to her flowers and creating a beautiful home. She loved supporting her grandkids in their activities and hearing about their schooling. Whether she was actually at an event or not, you could bet she was cheering them on from home.
Private family visitation will be on Monday, November 6 from 11:00-noon. A family graveside service will follow immediately after the visitation. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
