Timothy C. Tribble, 56, of Bloomington passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was diagnosed with cancer March of 2021 fighting through chemo and surgeries in July and November. Tim was born February 24, 1966 in St Louis, MO to John R. (Carol Jones) Tribble Sr. He married the love of his life, Shelli Myers on November 6, 1993 in Bloomington.
Tim graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications in 1997. He began his career with his ISU family March 16, 2009. He went on to obtain his Masters from ISU and genuinely loved learning and taking classes. While working as the Assistant Director of the Student Affairs Information Technology Department, he enjoyed mentoring the students that passed through his department. Tim is remembered for his generous spirit, sense of humor, his way of making everyone laugh and randomly breaking out into song. He loved seeing the growth and maturity of the students after their time in SAIT as each semester ended with goodbyes and thank yous when they graduated. His dedication to mentoring didn’t stop with his work/students, as he was a huge part of his sons’ lives growing up. He helped coach their baseball teams when they were young and passed on his love of wrestling helping Ryan and Tyler through their Jr High and High School wrestling careers. Tim was inducted into Jacksonville High Schools Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002 as a 2 sport athlete. Prior to his diagnosis, in his free time he enjoyed golf and riding his motorcycle. Over his 20 years of riding Tim logged over 15,000 miles with trips to Tail of the Dragon in the Smokey Mountains and South Dakota. Tim and his family are diehard St. Louis Cardinals fans and he loved attending games at Busch Stadium at least once or twice a season. He had an infectious personality, genuine heart and he would do whatever he could for his family and friends. He had such a positive attitude while fighting his disease and never gave up trying as he recovered from each painful treatment and surgery. He was a registered organ donor and through Ever Sight was eligible to donate and hopefully give the gift of sight to someone out there waiting.
Surviving Timothy are his loving wife of 29 years, Shelli Tribble; sons, Ryan (Amanda) Tribble and Tyler (Stephanie) Tribble; brothers, John Richard Tribble Jr. and Christopher (Dara) Tribble; nieces and nephews, Drew and Stephen Tribble, Jack and Katie Tribble, Jack and Caitryn Myers; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack (Pat) Myers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Richard Tribble Sr. and Carol Tribble; paternal grandparents, PopT and MomT; and maternal grandparents Pawpaw and Gogo.
