Ruth C. Dalrymple Wieting, 98, LeRoy, formerly of Bloomington and Lake Bloomington, passed away peacefully Tuesday (January 22, 2019) at LeRoy Manor. She was born August 15, 1920, Nokomis, IL, a daughter of the Rev. Dr. Edwin Lester Tobie and Carrie Jane Mansfield Tobie.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Schroeder (Richard); grandchildren Amy Dalrymple-Hill, Keith Dalrymple (Jennifer), Dr. Nicholas Schroeder (Suzanne), and Tobie Schroeder; step-daughter Jean Wieting Chakour (Elias); daughters-in-law Ellen Laesch Dalrymple and Gail Dalrymple; great grandchildren Kayleigh and Braelyn Hill, Jacob Dalrymple and Lucille Eun Schroeder; as well as 11 step-grandchildren and 12 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald W. Dalrymple, Sr.; her second husband, Kenneth J. Wieting; her companion in later years, Frank Knoll; her sons, Gerald W. Dalrymple, Jr. and David T. Dalrymple and step-son Daniel Wieting.
She was a 1941 graduate of Illinois Weslyan University and earned a masters in reading from Illinois State University. A member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, PEO Chapter AW, and Delta Kappa Gamma teacher’s honorary. She had been a member of the LeRoy Longfellow Club, Rike House Guild and LeRoy Country Club. She has been a member of Second Presbyterian Church Bloomington since 1941 and served as a Deacon.
She taught in Unit 5 schools for 20 years. As Mrs. Dalrymple, she taught first grade at Hudson Elementary School and then as Mrs. Wieting, fourth grade reading at Sugar Creek Elementary in Normal.

A private family burial will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday May 18th, at Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, IL with a lunch following at the church.
