Roger N Dahl

Roger was born August 30, 1942, in Bloomington, IL, to Roland E. and Marjorie M. (Welch) Dahl. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He married the love of his life, Sandra Kay Lauterberg on July 30, 1971. She passed away June 12, 2012.

He was a life member of VFW 454; Marine Corps League; and a member of American Legion, Vintage Thunderbird Club, Land of Lincoln Thunderbird Club. He was a lineman for 50 years with Cornbelt Electric and Mike Patton. He enjoyed woodworking and his Vintage red 1957 Thunderbird and military jeep.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly Swarts and Stacey (David) Vandegraft both of Bloomington, IL; five grandchildren, Brittany Dudley, Jennifer (Tyler) McGee, Jessica (James) Bailey, Travis Dudley and Bethany Vandegraft; seven great-grandchildren, Raelynn Burrows, Leighton Vandegraft, Librity Vandegraft, Adlea Burrows, Claira McGee, Bryce McGee and Greyson Dudley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

The family would like to give special thanks to hospice nurses, Mariah and Jennifer.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Roger Dahl will be 10 a.m. Tuesday March 5, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery in Bloomington, IL. Full military honors will be conducted. Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.eastlawnmemorial.com.
