Robert William Bacon, 92, of Bloomington, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at Veteran’s Hospital in Danville. Robert was born December 21, 1921 in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of Oliver and Ella Clark Bacon. He is survived by three sons, Robert Bouton of Washington DC, Michael (Tinley) Bouton of New Hampshire, and Eric Bacon of Alabama; one sister, Lois Camp of Peoria; many nieces and nephews; along with many friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Raymond; one sister, Dorothy Gulley; one daughter, Lee Ella Bouton; and one step-son, David Bouton. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II from November 12, 1942 to March 4, 1946. He received the “Good Conduct Medal’, “American Service Medal “and the” World War II Victory Metal”. Robert was a lifetime member of the American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the Godfrey L. Miller Lodge #1776 of Bloomington, Illinois. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday July 25, 2014 at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Road, Bloomington, Illinois . Visitation will be an hour prior to services.
