Born May 15, 1924 in Alluwe, Oklahoma to James L. and Maude (Herron) Overfelt, he married Betty McMains October 5, 1947 in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives.
Also surviving are : daughters, Peggy McLean of Mt. Zion, Illinois and Kathy Riva of Wimberley, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie (Lance) Alcorn of Bloomington, Illinois, Jennifer Tate of Mt. Zion, Illinois, Jeremy McLean of Mt. Zion, Illinois, and Christopher Watkins of San Diego, California; five great grandchildren and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters and one son-in-law.
Robert was retired from Texaco Oil Company where he was a pipeline District Superintendant . He was also an Army Air Force veteran of WWII.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, October 14, 2013 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with visitation one hour prior. Eastlawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
