Monica was born in Chicago, IL, on April 15, 1969, to Carlos and Maria (Alfaro) Correa Sr. She graduated Normal Community High School in 1987 and Illinois State University in 1994.
Monica lived in Bloomington-Normal most of her life, working as a claims adjuster at State Farm for many years before transitioning to an Illinois public adjuster. She was a member of Eastview Christian Church in Normal. She found great joy in spending time with her family and many friends. Her love of family multiplied with the birth of each of her grandchildren. Monica loved traveling, but always considered Chicago to be her favorite city and was loyal to and loved the Chicago Cubs and Bulls.
Monica was diagnosed November 2021 with stage IV pancreatic cancer, which she faced with courage and strength. Monica’s family would like to thank the many friends and family who prayed for and supported them through the rapid development of the illness. They are especially grateful for the generous care Monica received during her stay at Carle Bromenn Medical Center of Normal, IL.
Those left to honor Monica’s memory include her children: Jessica (Evan) Wilcox, Nicole (Alex) Diaz, and Devin Diaz; grandchildren: Madelyn Kriter, Leora, Evalina and Isaac Wilcox; parents: Carlos and Maria Correa Sr; siblings: Carlos (Arlene) Correa Jr, Paul J (Kelly) Correa Sr, Melissa (Lance) Cabral, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandsons Enzo and Zeke Wilcox.
Monica rested secure in the knowledge that God had promised her full and perfect healing with Him when He called her home.
