Helen “Faye” Hutchison, 73, of Hudson, lost her battle with lung cancer on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
She was born January 21, 1937 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Arthur and Mary Patricia Hardesty. She married Raymond “Dick” Hutchison on January 22, 1955. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister; three brothers and one-great-grandson, Grayson Price.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at College Park Christian Church. Her grandson, Shawn Lindsay will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements. Inurnment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Surviving are four daughters, Rita (David) Butler of Bloomington, Sue (John) Price of El Paso, Lisa (Jim) O’Brien of Gilbert, AZ and Julie (Roy) Sones of Paw Paw; one son, Richard Hutchison of El Paso. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Shawn) Lindsay; Matthew (Kim) Butler, Sarah (Andy) Roberts, Katie Butler, J.W. (Lisa) Price, Cory (Stacy) Price, Colin & Cathleen O’Brien, Raymond (Jolene) Hudson and Ryan Hudson; six great-grandchildren, Abby and Emily Lindsay, James and Leah Roberts and Rebecca and Alex Hudson; one sister, Irma Melke of Chicago and one brother, Harold (Grace) Hardesty of Colorado.
Helen worked as a nursing assistant the last 21 years of her employment at the McLean County Nursing Home, retiring in the late 1990’s.
She loved spending time with her family, quilting, gardening, canning, tending to her rose bushes and watching the birds, deer and wild turkeys at the home she lived in for 36 years.
She was loved and will be missed by her family and especially her beloved dog, Hutch.

The family wishes to thank the CVCU Staff at Advocate BroMenn for their kindness, compassion and wonderful care of mom; Dr. Paul Hakes, Dr. Omar, Dr. Alan Ginzburg, Dr. Burr, Dr. Koh and Advocate BroMenn Hospice. We especially thank Dr. David Gill and the City of Bloomington ambulance crew that attended to mom on Friday night. We also want to thank everyone for the prayers, kind words and support offered to us during this time.
