George Marion Gibson

He was born May 14, 1938, in Bloomington, the son of William Martin and Emma Marie (Lambert) Gibson. He married the love of his life Billie Mae Smith on June 25, 1960. She passed away April 14, 2018. George served in the US Navy and then worked as a machinist at The Eureka Company for 40 years. He was a faithful member of Danvers Baptist Church and served as a deacon for over 25 years.

George is survived by one son, George (Angie) Gibson and one daughter, Dawn (Billy) Jones; three grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Anderson, Michael (Jennifer) Gibson, Jake Gibson; two great granddaughters, Karley and Hailee Gibson; and two sisters, Delores Cripe and Vickie Simpson,

He was proceeded in death by his parents, loving wife, Billie; oldest son, William and seven brothers.

A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, Wednesday, February 7 at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Road, Bloomington, IL 61704. Service and graveside will immediately follow.
