He was born on July 25, 1921 in Fairmont, MN, the son of the late Frederick and Mathilda (Wille) Manzke. He married Helen Marie Roemer and they were married for 56 years when she passed away on Dec. 15, 2002.
Mr. Manzke worked as a paralegal at I.A.A. for 45 years and later worked for the I.R.S. He was involved with many volunteer efforts, primarily with the American Red Cross and also with Westminster Village, where he was a resident at the time of his passing. He was a member of St. Luke’s Union Church in Bloomington.
He is survived by a daughter Carol A. Manzke of Bloomington, and a son Donald A. (wife Jo Anne) Manzke of Woodland Hills, CA; 3 grandchildren, Anthony Manzke, Temeria Olabode, and Sihee Manns; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and a brother Frederick Manzke of Paxton, IL.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Keuch, 2 brothers Edwin and Wilbert Manzke, and a great-grandson Jadon Hosea.
Services are under the direction of East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Rd., Bloomington, IL 61704, where visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 9 to 10:30 am. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, from 2 to 3 pm at Skyline Memorial Park Chapel in Monee, IL. Burial will follow at Skyline Memorial Park.
