Billie was born April 8, 1941, in Bellflower, the daughter of Carol and Arlene Straight Smith. She married George Gibson Sr. on June 25, 1960 in Bloomington. He survives.
Also surviving are their children; George (Angela) Gibson of Bloomington and Dawn (Billy) Jones of Ewing, VA; three grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Anderson; Michael (Jennifer) Gibson, and Jacob Gibson; 2 great-grandchildren, Karley and Hailee Gibson. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William Gibson, and a brother, Thomas E. Smith.
Billie was a member of the Danvers Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was an active Sunday school teacher there. She loved reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
