Betty could be found gambling on most any 1 cent slot machines in Biloxi or anywhere she found a machine.
She was an avid golfer and had accomplished 3 holes in 1.
Betty loved Florida and the heat. She was very social and for many years, was head of the Welcoming Committee, meeting with all new residents in their park.
Betty was a member of the Saybrook Methodist Church. She was also a lifelong member of the Moose, and a past worthy matron of Eastern Star. Betty served as president of the Ladies’ Golf League in Bradenton, Florida, and volunteered her time for Meals on Wheels. She was also a charter member of the Indian Springs Golf Course in Saybrook.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Rae Ann Maupin of Elliott; a grandson, Jeremy (Jennifer) Maupin of Monticello; three great grandchildren, Mia, Jonah, and Leo Maupin; and a sister-in-law, Janice Simmons of Bloomington. Also surviving, very special friends Ed and Nancy Kirkpatrick of Saybrook.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is also preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Talley.
