In 1962, Sharon moved to Los Angeles, California. There is where she met Donald Lewis, a dashing young man that swept her off her feet and they married and raised their eight beautiful children together. Their relationship lasted the rest of her life.
Sharon came from a close-knit family with many uncles, aunts, and cousins. One of her closest family members was her cousin, Jackie. They have been as close as sisters up to the time of her passing. Sharon's inner beauty was a quality to imitate. One of Sharon’s gifts she had is making all of her children feel unique and special. This is something she did with all of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed roller skating. Sharon was a good cook. She enjoyed having her children over every week for a meal together. She loved camping, music, singing, and dancing was one of her many talents.
In 1964, two women knocked on her door. They began to explain Bible teachings, answer her Bible
questions, and point to the wonderful future God had purposed for mankind. When learning about
Jehovah she began to have love for the hope, that she had longed for her entire life, and the promise
that Jehovah made to his true servants, that burned in her heart forever.
Sharon symbolized her dedication by getting baptized on September 16, 1967. She was a faithful servant of Jehovah until the end. She studied the Bible with many people through the years. In 1979, Sharon became a regular pioneer, the term used by Jehovah’s Witnesses for a full-time minister, and was one until her death. There is an hour requirement, but she never had to worry about that because she enjoyed what she was doing, and the time took care of itself. She spent countless hours in the field ministry that she so loved, so much! She had a genuine love for people in sharing kingdom truths to whomever she would come cross whether it be in the door to door, shopping malls, grocery store, and any place people would be. She had a special gift she could conversate with people and was able to find a way to talk about her Heavenly Father Jehovah. Sharon was very encouraging to so many, it reflected in the way she lived her life. Throughout her pioneer ministry Sharon aided many individuals into the truth. The pioneer life was the road she trod, even as her body tired out, Jehovah made her strong. Hope was a fire in her heart, it was an anchor that held her firm. One of Brother and Sister Lewis’s greatest accomplishments was seeing all eight of their children get baptized.
Sharon showed a self-sacrificing love that only Jehovah could have instilled in her. She was great
example of how to make the truth real, she inspired many with her zeal for the ministry, she loved her
father Jehovah, to her he was real. When others were in need Sharon would help always with a
beautiful smile on her face, she made the hardest hearts melt.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents: Sylvester and Ardelia, three brothers, Donald, Allen, Robert, one sister, Carnell, and one daughter Lisa.
Sharon leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her loving husband Donald Lewis, seven beautiful
