It's been three years since we lost Robert, and I still find myself referring to e-mails and advice he gave me over the years we worked together at Fleetwood.

Robert was in my graduating class, 74, I ran into his brother I think in Fayetteville , N.C. I was planting grass from California, ST Augustine, and the alternate postman stopped and asked what I was doing, started the conversation, and lo and behold, we both grew up in Bloomington Ca, it was Roberts older brother I believe, I cannot remember his name, we had a nice visit but never got together. 
For Roberts family, may your hearts be full of the love he felt for all of you, may your sorrow be short, may your memories last forever of the good he IS... Bless you and sincere condolences..

Robert was a dear friend in high school. He was funny, so intelligent and kind...he kindly tutored me through geometry until I actually passed. I remember the teacher told Robert that he gave him an A rather than an A- because he “helped Miss Louks pass the class”.  I had a chance to talk to him as an adult and he bragged lovingly about his wife Patty and his 3 children. Learning about his passing grieves me deeply. He was truly a blessed soul and I will miss him for the rest of my life. Condolences to all of the Garcia family

I have only fond memories of Robert's sense of humor, his wit, his talking about Baker's and retirement, and a generally great outlook on things.  He was a great person and loved and I will miss him dearly.

My big brother Bob. There are so many memories growing up I can’t list them all. I will miss your sense of humor & your laughter afterwards. One humorous memory of you was when it was your birthday or Christmas we could always count on you to layer your clothes on your person & stay that way at least half the day. When talking to you about doing something you would say “well you just need to do it”. I love you & will miss you tremendously.

My dear friend, the memories I hold dear are your warm friendship and love of laughter. You were a ray of light, a friend to everyone you knew. Make God laugh, Robert! ❤️

To Uncle Bob,
     Not a day has gone by where Ryan and I haven’t kept you in our prayers. You were always welcoming Ryan to the Garcia Family.  I’ll just share some stories: kite flying with Liz and Matt on windy Santa Ana day. Liz and I named our cabbage patch dolls after you and Aunt Patty. During college at UCR eating brunch with you, Aunt Patty, Christina and Joseph; drinking your coffee in your brown initial cup. Thank you for feeding a college student. Also, checking out books for you from the campus library before you were part of the Alumni Association. Always asking me if I brought some Tupperware for leftovers if there was food at a college event. I never did. When you made me a name plate for my desk and when you made handcrafted Christmas ornaments with each family member’s name.  When Liz and I visited you at your work on Tyler and you were happy to show us around, and eating at the Dragon House.
I will keep you always in my prayers until we see each other again.       



My Uncle Bob was a great man and loved by us all.  I’ll join the club and confirm he gave the biggest and longest hugs out of anyone I know.   He also wouldn’t let you leave if he didn’t approve of the type of hug you gave, so you always knew you had to give a good one!  Because of him I learned very early on that when you hug someone, you should definitely mean it.  
Our uncles and aunts are like second parents to all of us Garcia grandchildren, and it breaks my heart that we lost you so soon.  I am very much relieved that you are no longer suffering and with Grandma and Grandpa in Heaven.  
Thank you for everything you contributed to my life over the the past 34 years.  Thank you for all the talks, laughs, hugs, and LOVE you’ve given to us all.  My love goes out to my cousins and aunt during this difficult time.  I love you guys very much.

I’ve been thinking a lot of how to put into words what Uncle Bob meant to me and the family. 

I’d like to share a few stories: 

First, he was a great uncle. 

Growing up he would take my siblings and I out to fly kites (and we were so scared he was going to fly away) or we would scribble drawings on the back of his blueprint paper (I hope it wasn’t a final draft!). 

As I got older he would do handshake greeting when first meeting and say “good to see you Elizabeth, good to see you” and if my grip wasn’t up to par he’d do it again.

He would always say how important a good handshake was. I didn’t fully understand until I was older when someone complimented on my handshake just what he was teaching me — how the first impression you make is a lasting one. 

He always gave the biggest hug after that handshake routine. And it always felt like no time had passed from the last time we were together. 

He always had a story to tell and I always learned something new about our family history through him. 

What I reflect on now is that he lived his life the way he wanted to. He achieved two advanced degrees while having a young family. He loved being  around  family.  He had a mind that was constantly thinking and creating. He wasn’t afraid to just try. 

What I will always carry with me from Uncle Bob is to live simply, don’t be afraid to try and then try again, and to love deeply. 

Our family will deeply miss a brother, husband, father, grandfather, cousin and uncle.  We love you endlessly. 

All my love to you Aunt Patty, Nicole, Christina, Joseph, Aaron and Mackenzie.  

Bob, these past two years our families haven't seen each other much, but know you and Patty and the kid's were always in our thoughts and prayers. I will truly miss your hugs. I know we will all see each other soon to share penguin 🐧hugs all around 😄. 

My beautiful friend Roberto,  I want to thank you for always making time for me, always making me smile. I will miss our lunches,conversations, and hugs! I will forever remember you because people like you  are not easy to find. You are what I call a Man amongst Men,  I know in the past years you suffered so much but there was nothing I could do for you, I really wanted to help you but I know in my heart that we will one day see each other again so I find comfort in that!!!! I won't say goodbye I'll say see you on the other side my beautiful friend.  God Bless you 🙏 I Love You

I’m so thankful I had the chance to meet you. You’ve always been so kind & welcoming. I will definitely miss your warm hugs. Things will never be the same without you. Blake & I promise to always be here for Aunt Patty, Nicole, Christina, Jojo & your grandbabies. You will me missed tremendously.

There are just no words to describe the grieving process we all are going through right now. You were more than just my uncle, you were another father figure to me. Although you are no longer with us physically, I will always remember your words of wisdom, your calming sense of peace, and all your dad jokes!! I love and miss you so much and wish I could tell you one more time how much you truly meant to me! Say hi to grandma and grandpa for us! Until we meet again.

As another Quality Manger, at the  Cavco Durango facility in Phoenix ,  I also had  many times   reached out to Robert for code compliance assistance.  I  was involved with Robert a recently  in  major testing and evaluation of a new design that we had submitted for approval. 

 He will be missed by not only his family and friends but by all of his colleagues .

I’m going to miss all the times we had going to 66ers games, going out golfing being the best coach to me and showing your love and support to the family. You are going to be missed so much.  Love you Uncle Bob. 

My nino was my favorite person. He always showed love and support to everyone. He was my biggest supporter and went to all my school and church functions. He put a smile on my face every time I saw him. I will truly miss his warm loving hugs. Love you nino ❤️ 

As Quality Control Manager at Fleetwood Homes in Woodburn Oregon I had many times to work with Robert over many years. We had worked on projects and he was always ready to help no matter what the project was. Robert was also very helpful in answering questions that came up at our plant, and many other plants across the nation. Robert will be missed and I am glad to have known him and worked with him. I wish for Roberts family to always remember the good times spent together, and know that this separation is just for a time.

As the Quality Assurance Manager at Fleetwood Homes in Lafayette TN since the 90s, I spoke with Robert regularly about issues concerning our houses.   We typically only spoke about work,  but anytime I had a problem or a question about anything having to do with electrical, heating or cooling, or Energy Star, Robert almost always had the answer or would find it and get back to me on the phone or in an e-mail.  
Even though we spoke many, many times, I never got to meet Robert in person.  I had never even seen a picture of him until he passed.  Seems strange to have a long distance relationship with a person, for that person to have helped me in so many ways for many years,  for him to assist me in doing my job, and then for him to be gone without ever even meeting him or having the chance to let him know how much he was appreciated.   I have a file on my computer named "From Robert"  that I refer to often.  It has e-mails and answers to questions that Robert sent me over the years.   I'm sure I will continue to look in this folder and benefit from Robert's knowledge for years to come, and I will think of him often.  
Robert, you will be missed very much, by very many people.  

Brother I am so heart broken. There are no words to express how hard this is going to be to be doing life without you. We are so blessed by how you have been so supportive and the love you have shared for us all.  You truly will be missed along with the warmest hugs. I promise to watch out for Patty, Nicole, Christina and Joseph and to make sure to keep your love and spirit alive. Much love your sister Jennifer.
