Mayra Melendez

In loving memory of Mayra Melendez, 58, passed away on Saturday, November 21st, 2020. She was born in the Dominican Republic to her parents Isabella Nunez and Domingo Tolentino. She immigrated to New York at the mere age of two. Mayra had a cheerful personality and devoted her life to being a wonderful wife to Jose Melendez and an amazing mother to her three children Anthony, Elizabeth, and Edwin. She was a memorable grandmother to eight grandchildren, T.J., Natalie, Christopher, Elissa, Angilee, Reynaldo, Aidan, and Julian. As well as a great grandmother to three great grandchildren and one on he way, Zayden, Caroline, and Kristian. From her father's side, she was the oldest out of five, Madeline, Domingo, Miosoti, Javier, Brian, and Sheina. Mayra was an amiable coworker and worked as an Activities Director at an adult daycare named "Care with Love" in Jersey City. She inspired the elderly to be motivated and joyful. She left this world a hero by saving not one but two lives, all thanks to her being an organ donor. Ma you will forever be our angel watching over us. Rest in Peace. There will be a Private Cremation and a Memorial Service at a later time.
