Willie Ruth “Will” Vincent Morton, of Bluff Park passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013. She was retired from Alabama Power Company, formerly employed by Southern Electric Generating Company and Birmingham Electric Co. “Will” was a member of Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church. She was active in Republican activities, having served as Delegate to State and County Conventions, a member and past Secretary of Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee, a past member of the Alabama Republican Party. She was also a past charter member of the Birmingham Chapter of National Secretaries Association and a member of The Club. “Will” was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Morton; parents, Leslie and Lillian Vincent; sisters: Mary Alice Reedy and Georgia V. Taylor; brothers-in-law: Sam Brennan, Chuck Taylor and Bill Reedy. Survivors include her sons: Raymond C. Morton, Jr. (Mary) and Rodney P. Morton (Sally); grandchildren: Raymond C. Morton, III (Patricia Hoskins), Matthew Morton, Eric and Grace Morton; sister, Maymie V. Brennan; six nephews, one niece and a number of great nieces and nephews. ”Will” was a diehard fan and supporter of her late husband’s alma mater, Auburn University. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. “Will” requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church, 2262 Chapel Road, Hoover AL 35226 or your favorite charity. Her graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at Elmwood Cemetery.
