The Rev. Dr. William "Bill" Hampton Wolfe, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hampton Moore Wolfe and Louise Brannon Wolfe. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Kay Wilson Wolfe; daughters, Susan Leigh Andre (Galen), Bethany Kay Jones and Katherine Louise Flegert; grandson, Alexander Luther Flegert; brothers, James Brannon Wolfe (Mary) and Steven Lyman Wolfe (Andrea); sister, Sandra Lynn Whatley (Bob); aunt, Bettye Brannon Dunn and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Bill received his Bachelors of Art degree from Birmingham Southern University, attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University where he received his Doctorate of Ministry. He served churches in the North Alabama UMC conference and the Florida UMC conference. Bill retired in 2003 and became Pastor of Visitation at Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church for another 13 years and retired in 2016. The family will receive friends and have a repast on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Gardendale Mt Vernon United Methodist Church with a Celebration of Life Service following at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Steve Baccus and Rev. Dr. Rudy Guess, officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Gardendale Mt.
