Wayne Anthony Poole, Jr, of Birmingham, Alabama, turned 48 on February 19th and passed away, following his bonus daughter, Katherine Marie Dykes, into the heavens on Friday, April 22, 2022 after being surrounded and harassed by his loved ones following a long illness.
Wayne was born in Birmingham and raised in Tarrant City. He was proud to be from Tarrant and he loved playing football for the Wildcats.
He was well known around Birmingham and was friendly with most people. Unless you made him mad, then you may get Insane Wayne! He was lovingly known as Wanksta to Jenn and Pappy to his grandkids.
He survived this life and took care of his family as an independent plumber, among other interesting financial adventures. Wayne always had a side hustle and was always up for a party.
He loved fishing and hunting and was an intense pool player.
We’re sure his family and friends will be telling “Wayne” stories for the rest of their days!
We weren’t planning on him leaving us so soon, but maybe the big guy had some things he needed him to do.
Wayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Velma and Charles Miller and Clyde Lynn, his parents, Mary Lynn and Wayne Anthony Poole, Sr., Step-father, Terry Wayne Scott, Best Friend, Shane McReath, Bonus Mom, Danette McReath, and bonus daughter, Katherine as mentioned above.
He left behind his wife of 27 years, Jennifer Alexis Poole, daughters, Savannah Michelle Poole, Ashley Marie Poole (Dillon Heath), bonus daughter Sarah Ashlyn Dykes(Repete Smith), grandchildren Sawyer Maverick Poole and Kayne Maddox Cole and bonus grandchildren Kennedi Alexis Gurley, Hayley Jade Smith and Nylah Rose Smith, sisters Frances Marie Burnham, Kenda Smith (Jason) Misty McReath and brother, Dale Poole. He leaves behind a host of bonus children, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 29, 2022 from 5:30 – 8:00PM with a Celebration of Life at 7:00PM. It will be held at Ridout’s Trussville, 1500 Gadsden Highway, Trussville, AL 35235.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to NORML – www.norml.org as the legalization of marijuana was something Wayne hoped to see before he died.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ridoutstrussvillechapel.com for the Poole family.
