Steve was proud of his community, he coached youth sports at the old Fultondale Park for years.
More recently you would find him helping with the charity events at the American Legion. For many years he would go bass fishing. On Sunday’s he enjoyed watching NASCAR. His favorite thing was getting his bride and taking off for a long weekend excursion.
Pops was a patriot and he loved this country. He also was a humble and private man; so much so that he never told anyone of the three Bronze Stars awarded for his Army service in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife Phylis Manasco Hallman of Fultondale, AL., Sons, Jason Hallman (Reagan Hallman) of Fairhope, David Hester of Fultondale. Grandsons Wade Hallman, Tristan Hallman, Jace Hallman of Fairhope and Landon Hester of Fultondale. Three sisters Linda Newsome, Melanie Dillinger, Sharon Payne of Jasper. He also leaves behind a host of friends that were also considered family.
He is preceded in death by his Mother, Jean Hallman, Father, Leon Hallman and Brother Phillip Hallman.
Services are to be held at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel. Receiving of friends will be from 10:00 am to 11:00am. Graveside service will be at 11:00am at Elmwood Cemetery.
