Sharon R Bawcum

Sherry Bawcum, age 59, of Alabaster Alabama, went on to join our Lord, Jesus Christ and her husband Bobby Bawcum and her niece Brittany Maxwell on Sunday, February 16, 2020. She was an active member of the body of Christ, serving faithfully with a humble heart. Sherry was a living historian with the 31st Alabama CSA and an active educator of historical events during the civil war. She was a registered nurse and an passionate advocate for her patients. She enjoyed needlework, reading, and studying scripture. She always had a song in her heart and was a shoulder to lean on.

She is survived by her two daughters: Tracey Le (Nhan) and Rachel Cox (Matthew); her grand-daughter, Mira Le; her parents: Harold and Mary Ann Johnson; her siblings: Donna Muse (Stan), Chris Johnson, and Montine Maxwell; her nieces and nephews: Nicole Maxwell, Josh Muse (Crystal), and Lauren Muse; and friends too numerous to list.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00 am at Ridout Elmwood Chapel located at 800 Dennison Ave. SW Birmingham, Alabama 35211, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow the Celebration of Life at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either The American Cancer Society or Compassion International.
